OVERVIEW The Enrollment Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for prospective students at the College of Southern Maryland. This role supports students through the admission process, registration, advising, and preparation for their first classes. The position also works with international students and Special Admission programs, helping students navigate college processes and enrollment requirements. The role includes outreach and recruitment activities that connect the college with prospective students and the wider community. Responsibilities involve providing guidance to students while supporting enrollment goals and student success initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as the first point of contact for prospective students – Provide information about college programs and services – Support students through the admission process – Advise and register students for classes – Assist students through their first classes and first semester coursework – Participate in recruitment activities including high school visits, college fairs, and community events – Coordinate Special Admission programs for Early College and international students – Support international students through the admissions process – Inform international students about F-1 visa requirements – Advise international students on first semester coursework REQUIREMENTS – Experience supporting students through admission and registration processes – Ability to advise students on coursework and enrollment – Ability to participate in recruitment activities and community events – Knowledge of Special Admission programs – Ability to support international students through admissions and visa-related requirements – Strong communication and student support skills WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS Enrollment professionals help students successfully transition into college by providing guidance during important early stages of the admission and enrollment process. This role is especially important for international students and first-time students who may need additional support while navigating admission requirements, registration, and academic planning. By connecting students with resources and accurate information, the Enrollment Coordinator contributes to student success and strengthens relationships between the college and the community through outreach activities and recruitment efforts.
