OVERVIEW The Program Coordinator for the Department of International Study Programs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley supports the administration and operation of Study Abroad Programs (SAPs) in Edinburg, Texas. This role involves coordinating program activities, advising students, managing applications and logistics, and supporting both short-term and long-term international programs. The position requires independent judgment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities related to program planning, administration, and evaluation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Assist in the operation of Study Abroad Programs (SAPs) – Exercise independent judgment and authority as required – Manage all phases of study abroad programs – Provide student advising and recruitment support – Coordinate nomination and application management processes – Administer scholarships related to study abroad programs – Support program logistics and operational planning – Make budget recommendations for assigned programs – Participate in future planning and outreach activities – Ensure pre-departure compliance for participants – Coordinate SAPs to ensure activities are implemented according to specified objectives – Plan, administer, and evaluate short-term and long-term programs – Supervise and manage day-to-day program activities and personnel, as applicable – Develop, coordinate, and supervise implementation of multiple projects or programs – Recommend modifications to improve program effectiveness REQUIREMENTS – Ability to exercise independent judgment and authority – Experience or ability to coordinate and administer programs – Ability to manage multiple projects or programs simultaneously – Strong organizational and planning skills – Ability to supervise day-to-day activities and personnel, as applicable – Ability to support student advising and recruitment functions – Ability to manage applications, logistics, and compliance processes – Ability to contribute to program evaluation and improvement WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International education programs provide students with opportunities for academic, cultural, and personal growth through global learning experiences.
