University of Bristol – Information, Advice and Guidance Team Location: Bristol Salary: £28,929 to £32,411 per annum, Grade: G Hours: Full Time Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract Placed On: 4th July 2023 Closes: 17th July 2023 Job Ref: SUPP110066 The role The Careers Support Officer (International) works within the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Team within the University of Bristol Careers Service and has a specific responsibility to support our international students, particularly those from China. The postholder will work closely with the Careers Consultant (International) on 1-1 appointments, group delivery and resource development for this cohort. They will also support our front of house team, providing high quality careers information, advice and support to all our students and recent graduates, both in person at our student-facing space in 5 Tyndall Avenue and online through our Live Chat service. What will you be doing? Delivering high quality, user-focussed careers information and advice in-person at the Careers Service and online via our Live Chat service. Planning and delivering presentations on careers topics for the UK and overseas job markets Developing careers information resources, including resources tailored to our international student cohort, keeping up to date with labour market information across a range of sectors and countries. Building working relationships with student groups, including the International Student Network, to inform and promote our offer. Working closely with our Faculty Employability team and the schools that have a high proportion of international students. You should apply if You are passionate about supporting students and graduates to achieve their future ambitions. You have excellent customer relations skills. You understand how to engage with students from a variety of backgrounds, including international. You have initiative and an ability to problem solve. You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Fluent written and spoken Mandarin is highly desirable, but not essential for this role.
