Position: Careers Operations & Placement Team Manager Employment Type: Full-time (37 hours per week) Salary: UH8 £44,263 to £56,021 based on experience Annual Leave: 30 days plus public holidays and an additional 4 days during Christmas and New Year closure Location: College Lane campus, Hatfield The University of Hertfordshire Careers & Employment Service is dedicated to helping students explore career opportunities through innovative and creative means. We provide support and resources to students and graduates, fostering connections with employers. Responsibilities: – Lead and manage the Careers Operations & Placement Team, providing professional careers, placements, and work experience information and advice. – Oversee service operations, including budget records, information management, communication, and large-scale events. – Ensure proper administrative operation of the Service within university policies, while considering employment law, data protection, and international student matters. – Act as Site Manager, making decisions regarding day-to-day operations and staff resources. – Manage internal communications strategy to effectively engage our various audiences. – Lead the Placements Team, encouraging placement uptake and overseeing administrative processes. – Collaborate with university partners, including Legal, Compliance, and academic staff. – Work with other teams and employers to promote placements and offer support in complex situations. – Utilize advanced administration skills to provide high-quality customer service and oversee budgets. – Support the management team through various tasks and data analysis. Required Skills and Experience: – Experience in budget management and systems development. – Proficient in communicating and presenting information in diverse formats. – Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances. – Attention to detail. Required Qualifications: – Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or substantial relevant professional work experience.
