OVERVIEW The Assistant Director, International Student Services supports the academic and immigration success of international students at St. Thomas University in Opa Locka, Florida. This role focuses on advising students, managing immigration records, and ensuring institutional compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations. The position works closely with students and campus partners to deliver effective services for a diverse international population. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Advise F-1 and J-1 international students on immigration-related matters and academic progress – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for the institution – Manage and maintain accurate SEVIS records in compliance with DHS regulations – Review and process CPT, OPT, and STEM-OPT applications – Issue Forms I-20 to eligible international students – Assist with overseeing day-to-day international student services operations – Coordinate international student orientations – Develop and support cross-cultural programming initiatives – Collaborate with campus partners to support international student success REQUIREMENTS WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International students rely on accurate guidance and consistent support to maintain lawful status while pursuing their academic goals.
