OVERVIEW The Program Manager / Assistant Director, Study Abroad at Howard University plays a central role in coordinating and overseeing all undergraduate learning abroad activities. Based in the Bunche International Affairs Center, this position provides strategic and operational leadership for study abroad programs that support student learning and global engagement. The role combines program management, student support, and collaboration with faculty and external partners. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Coordinate and oversee all undergraduate study abroad and learning abroad activities. – Provide strategic oversight of study abroad programs. – Manage relationships and agreements with study abroad providers. – Develop and implement policies and procedures related to study abroad programming. – Oversee study abroad application systems. – Deliver pre-departure and re-entry programming for students. – Supervise student workers. – Support faculty-led study abroad programs. – Manage budgets, invoices, and financial processes related to study abroad programs. – Maintain study abroad databases and program websites. – Serve as the primary point of contact for student inquiries and program-related issues. REQUIREMENTS – Familiarity with international education. – Familiarity with study abroad programming. – Familiarity with student support within an international education context.
