OVERVIEW Clemson University is seeking an International Employment & Tax Specialist to support employment eligibility and compliance processes for the university’s international workforce. The role supports the Manager in handling tax compliance matters, visa-related employment verification, and technical analysis connected to non-resident alien taxation. This position also serves as a primary contact for international employees while coordinating with university departments involved in hiring and payroll processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Support the Manager in managing employment eligibility and tax compliance for the university’s international workforce – Perform technical analysis of non-resident alien taxation – Oversee visa-related employment verification – Serve as the primary contact for international employees – Coordinate with Payroll, Human Resources, and the International Student/Scholar Office on international hiring and compliance matters – Maintain communication and coordinates processes related to international employment matters REQUIREMENTS – Experience supporting employment eligibility processes – Knowledge of tax compliance related to international employment – Ability to perform technical analysis of non-resident alien taxation – Ability to oversee visa-related employment verification – Ability to serve as a contact for international employees – Ability to coordinate with Payroll, HR, and International Student/Scholar Office teams WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International employment and compliance processes are essential to supporting universities that employ global talent.
