OVERVIEW Berklee College of Music is seeking an International Student Advisor to support international students through immigration advising, orientation, and student services. The role works within the Office of International Student Services and serves as a Designated School Official (DSO). This position focuses on advising related to F-1 regulations, SEVIS compliance, cultural adjustment, and ongoing support for the international student community. International students represent a significant portion of the student population at Berklee. The advisor will help guide each student through important immigration processes while contributing to a supportive and informed international education environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for international students – Provide advising related to F-1 immigration regulations – Support students with OPT and CPT processes – Issue I-20 documents – Assist with USCIS applications – Maintain SEVIS records and compliance requirements – Support international student orientation programming – Provide student support services related to cultural adjustment and student needs – Supervise student employees REQUIREMENTS – Bachelor’s degree – Experience in international education or student affairs – Experience working with international student populations WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS International student advising plays an important role in helping students maintain immigration compliance while adjusting to academic and campus life.
