### Job Description

#### Job Summary
The Assistant Baseball Coach provides vital assistance to the Head Coach in managing and administering the baseball team. This includes facilitating practice sessions, conditioning workouts, monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress, and recruiting prospective athletes.

### Essential Duties and Responsibilities
– **Team Administration:** Assist the Head Coach and staff with administrative responsibilities, including team management for both men’s and women’s teams.
– **Coaching:** Provide instruction, demonstration, and teaching of the sport’s dynamics to ensure the maximum potential of individual athletes and the team.
– **Recruitment:** Scout prospective student-athletes from high schools, junior colleges, and community colleges, and make recommendations to the Head Coach.
– **Compliance:** Stay current with, understand, and adhere to all NCAA guidelines. Maintain updated rosters, squad lists, and other necessary information using Compliance Assistant Internet (CAI) program and ARMS software.
– **Scheduling and Coordination:** Assist in organizing schedules, coordinating team travel, arranging competitive schedules, organizing practice sessions, and maintaining recruiting databases.
– **Public Relations:** Assist in implementing and maintaining a comprehensive public relations program.
– **Fundraising and Events:** Help manage sport camps, clinics, department fundraising, and booster events in compliance with NCAA, Lone Star Conference, and institutional rules and policies.
– **Regulation Enforcement:** Ensure communication and enforcement of rules and regulations concerning student-athlete conduct, appearance, punctuality, and other criteria.
– **Other Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned.

### Minimum Requirements
**Education:** Bachelor’s Degree

**Experience:** Three years of coaching and playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or higher level.

### Knowledge and Abilities
**Knowledge of:**
– Word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
– General NCAA rules

**Ability to:**
– Multitask and work cooperatively with others
– Communicate effectively with both oral and written skills

### Licensing / Professional Certification
– Must possess CPR Certification and First Aid Certification, or be able to obtain these within 30 days of employment.
– Must possess a valid driver’s license for occasional transportation of student-athletes.

### Physical Requirements

### Supervision of Others
This position does not generally supervise other employees.

### Other Requirements
– Position requires travel.
– Evening and/or weekend hours may be required.

– Requires on-campus, face-to-face interactions.
– Maintaining a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace is essential.

**Salary:** $43,909.08 annually
