Brief Summary of Job Duties: The Applications/Enrollment Manager, Global Programs (Manager) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and work assignments of Program Specialists within UCEAP’s Global Programs unit. Reporting to the Associate Program Director, the Manager conducts performance evaluations, resolves personnel issues, and provides ongoing development and feedback to direct reports. The Manager leads the onboarding programs for new staff hires and collaborates with UCEAP HR and other units to develop and maintain training materials and procedures. Additionally, the Manager acts as the primary liaison with UC campus student services units and internal UCEAP units regarding application policies and procedures. They contribute to the development of Global Programs operational policies, propose new policies, and collaborate with the Research unit on application-related data and analysis. The Manager also coordinates with various teams, such as IT and Marketing, Communications, and Engagement (MC&E), to address application resource needs for the Program Specialists. They collaborate with other Global Programs unit Managers on outreach events and work with campus partners and host institutions to achieve enrollment goals. Furthermore, the Manager oversees collaborative efforts with stakeholders to maximize the efficiency of the application intake process. They organize office visits from international partners and study centers and coordinate UCEAP events for the Global Programs unit. Required Qualifications: – Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and/or training. – 7+ years of experience in higher education and student services. – Ability to interpret and apply organizational policies, requirements, or regulations. – Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage diverse populations. – Demonstrated ability to build trust and establish relationships with faculty, staff, and students. – Excellent research skills and a history of critical analysis. – Skill in gathering, compiling, and conveying accurate information. – Thorough understanding of higher education policies, procedures, and requirements. – Ability to anticipate and identify problems, make informed decisions, and resolve complex issues. – Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and complex organization. – Ability to assess system performance and implement improvements. – Resourcefulness and creativity in recommending new policies and procedures. Preferred Qualifications: – Experience in project management or team leadership, including managing administrative units or staff. – Extensive experience living, studying, or working abroad. – Experience in the Education Abroad field and knowledge of industry trends and issues. – Proficiency in utilizing IT tools, such as project management software, CRM, and database integration and management, to optimize processes. – Master’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and/or training. Special Conditions of Employment: – UCSB is a Tobacco-Free environment. – Satisfactory conviction history background check. – The UCEAP Systemwide Office is located in Goleta, CA (near the UCSB campus). – Eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, which may require occasional presence at the UCEAP Systemwide Office for meetings, training, study abroad fairs, and other events. The University does not provide reimbursement for commuting expenses as per University policy.
