Position: Director of Student Services & Engagement Job ID: #23335 Department: Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Sunshine Coast Campus, Sippy Downs Contract: Full-time, fixed-term appointment for 5 years Salary: Senior staff contract, negotiated with the preferred appointee The Role: As the Director of Student Services & Engagement, you will be working closely with the Pro Vice-Chancellor to develop and implement a strategic approach to student engagement, success, and retention. Your responsibilities will include overseeing critical areas such as admissions, enrolment, graduation, and student support services. You will also be responsible for managing and leading the University’s Student Services functions and student systems, ensuring comprehensive administrative services. As a member of the Senior Management group, you will coordinate student administration, maintain compliance, enhance student-focused services, provide strategic advice to the university executive, and collaborate to achieve portfolio objectives. Key Objectives: – Provide best-practice services to a diverse student body – Monitor and continuously improve the delivery of student services – Provide strong leadership to the dedicated Student Services & Engagement staff About the Student Services Directorate: The Student Services Directorate is dedicated to providing comprehensive student administration and support services based on a shared services philosophy. Their mission is to ensure a positive and transformational experience for all UniSC students. The services encompass various areas, including academic and administrative support, admissions, credit applications, course enrolment, examinations, graduation services, and support for Indigenous students and community engagement. They are also responsible for student finance, scholarships, the student information system, academic program advice, Orientation and Connect Week coordination, and various student success programs. About You: You should be a strategic visionary with experience in higher-education student services. You should have a deep commitment to inclusive design, ensuring that student services cater to the diverse needs and backgrounds of students. You should be skilled in integrating digital and in-person services throughout the student journey. A culture of continuous improvement and data-driven insights should be your expertise. You should possess a high degree of cultural sensitivity, particularly with Indigenous students. Your skills should include staff leadership, compliance, and interdepartmental collaboration.
