Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance

Position Type: Fixed Term
Contract Duration: 12 months (Maternity cover)

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is an innovative and prestigious higher education institution with a vision to redefine the conservatoire for the modern age. As a leading provider of music and dance education, we strive to offer the highest quality specialist training that prepares students for a collaborative and successful career in the arts.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the recruitment of students from both the UK and overseas, in order to enhance the diversity and talent of our student body across music and dance disciplines. You will lead the recruitment efforts in Asian markets, with a focus on East and South East Asia. Additionally, you will be tasked with establishing and maintaining sustainable partnerships with institutions abroad, facilitating joint programs and student and staff exchanges.

In this role, you will foster strong relationships with schools, agents, and partners while expanding Trinity Laban’s network. You will identify and capitalize on promotional opportunities in target markets, attend relevant educational events, and present at schools and recruitment fairs. Furthermore, you will coordinate auditions, masterclasses, and workshops overseas, collaborating closely with academic colleagues. Working alongside the Learning and Participation, Registry, and Alumni Relations teams, you will ensure that Trinity Laban attracts suitable students from diverse backgrounds who meet the requirements of our programs and instruments.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree and have a minimum of two years’ experience in education or arts administration. Fluency in Mandarin is preferred. You should possess a solid understanding of educational recruitment practices, as well as effective marketing and communication skills, including knowledge of Chinese social media platforms. Additionally, the ability to effectively represent the Conservatoire to various stakeholders, including senior management and government officials, is vital. Previous experience in music, dance, or a higher education environment would be highly advantageous.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of their sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity status.

Please note that all applications will be reviewed anonymously by our recruitment panel. Therefore, please do not include your name or personal details in your supporting statement, as this may result in your application being excluded from consideration.
