Job Description – Student Enrolment Officer

Position Details:
- Roles Available: 2 (Immediate start)
- Employment Type: Full-time and Part-time (0.6 FTE / 3 days per week)
- Location: On-site at Melbourne campus (opposite Melbourne Central station)
As a Student Enrolment Officer, you’ll be instrumental in MIT’s Student Administration and Experience team. Your role ensures smooth student enrolments, maintenance of accurate student records, and exceptional student support.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Student Enrolments and Experience: Support seamless enrolment for domestic and international students. Work closely with academic departments and partner providers to disseminate timely academic information.
- Student Record Keeping Compliance & Policies: Uphold regulatory standards in managing both digital and hardcopy student records.
- Enrolment Reports & Duties: Generate accurate enrolment data and reports, pivotal for strategic planning and policy development.
- Communication: Deliver clear, professional communication and foster positive relationships with students and stakeholders.
- Graduation Coordination: Verify student eligibility, manage the graduation list, and contribute to documentation and ceremony planning.
- Records Management: Maintain MIT’s Records Management System, PRISMS, and other student file systems.
- Procedure Development: Regularly assess and improve record-keeping procedures for optimal security and efficiency.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Tertiary Education Experience: Previous work in a higher education setting.
- Proficiency in PRISMS: Familiarity with COE extensions, completion letters, and SCV.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understand the ESOS Act and National Code.
- Microsoft Office Proficiency: Especially in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication with a strong attention to detail.
- Cultural Awareness: Recognizing and respecting the diverse backgrounds of students.
- University Policies Knowledge: Insight into university procedures is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Education, Sociology, or a related field is required.
