Position: Academic Leadership at University of Newcastle College of International Education, operated by Kaplan Higher Education
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to lead the academic operations of Kaplan-operated CBD-campus pathway college for international students progressing to the University of Newcastle. As the Academic Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring that College students receive the highest quality education and are well prepared for their continued studies at the University of Newcastle. It will be essential to maintain strong relationships with various stakeholders within the university.
Responsibilities:
– Lead and motivate the College’s academic team to achieve performance objectives, such as student retention, engagement, lecturer engagement, and student success.
– Monitor student academic performance closely and provide necessary support when required.
– Coach and mentor academic staff to excel in teaching practice, content development, and scholarship.
– Oversee teacher recruitment activities.
– Act as the primary academic liaison with the Vice President Academic, Kaplan Higher Education, Director of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning (Pathways), and the University of Newcastle within faculties and central administration.
– Lead the academic staff in the preparation and delivery of lectures, tutorials, practical classes, and demonstrations using innovative and stimulating course materials.
Requirements:
– 2-3 years of experience in a similar role with extensive academic management exposure in the international student environment (essential).
– Experience in people and operational leadership (essential).
– Master’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline (essential).
– Experience in building relationships with partner universities.
– Hands-on management style.
– PhD qualification is desirable.
