Job Description:
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Assistant Baseball Coach assists with all aspects of coaching an intercollegiate team, including recruiting, scouting, game management, and promotions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Assists the head coach and/or assistant coach in coaching activities.
– Provides instruction, demonstration, and teaches the dynamics of the sport to student-athletes to maximize their potential.
– Recruits and scouts potential student-athletes from high schools, junior colleges, and community colleges.
– Makes recommendations to the head coach regarding the potential of student-athletes.
– Performs assigned administrative duties as directed by the Head Coach.
– Coordinates and arranges team travel, organizes practice sessions, maintains recruiting databases, and updates opponent files.
– Develops and distributes scouting reports on opponents and assists in uniform and equipment procurement.
– Assists with summer camps.
– Maintains knowledge of NCAA, Conference, and University rules and regulations.
– Establishes and enforces rules and regulations concerning student-athlete conduct, appearance, punctuality, and other areas.

Minimum Requirements:
– Education: Bachelor’s degree.
– Experience: Previous collegiate coaching experience or playing experience at a higher level.
Knowledge and Abilities:
– Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
– Knowledge of NCAA rules.
– Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others.
– Strong oral and written communication skills.
Licensing / Professional Certification: None

Supervision of Others:
This position does not typically involve supervising employees.
Other Requirements:
– Must possess a valid driver’s license for occasional transportation of student-athletes.
– Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.

Salary: $14.43/hourly
