Location: Daresbury Laboratory, Warrington
Hours: Full-Time (We understand the importance of work-life balance, and are happy to discuss the possibility of flexible working with applicants, but do require on-site working 3 days per week)
We are a team of scientists, technologists, engineers, and business support professionals who strive to push the boundaries of knowledge and make a difference in the world. Join us at Daresbury Laboratory in Halton, Cheshire, where you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside world-leading experts, continuously learn and explore your own curiosity.
We are currently looking for an Apprenticeship Coordinator to join our team as we increase the number of apprenticeships offered on our Gold accredited, award-winning programme. At STFC, we offer apprenticeship opportunities using our state-of-the-art facilities to support groundbreaking research. As the Apprenticeship Coordinator, you will provide detailed support and guidance to managers, supervisors, and apprentices, ensuring the smooth running and development of the apprenticeship scheme. You will also act as an ambassador for our programme, both internally and externally, to maintain our strong public profile for apprenticeships.
In this role, you will collaborate with colleagues from STFC and UKRI to deliver and support various projects. You will also coordinate and support careers events and open days, both internally and externally. Some travel within the UK and Europe may be required, as well as occasional unsocial hours to engage with schools, training providers, parents, and young people.
The ideal candidate for this role is enthusiastic, goal-oriented, and has a strong motivation to continuously update their knowledge of UK apprenticeships. Experience in managing or supporting apprentices or individuals early in their careers is essential. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, teamwork skills, and the ability to engage and support individuals at the early stages of their careers are also key. Excellent oral, written, and presentational skills, including influencing and negotiating abilities, are necessary for success in this role.
Our Apprenticeship Coordinators come from diverse backgrounds, including apprenticeships, local authorities, education, and HR. Whether you have formal or informal experience in line management, supervision, Information Advice and Guidance (IAG), or mentoring, we are looking for passionate individuals to support our apprentices and contribute to our organization’s diverse activities.
In addition to exciting work and the opportunity to make a difference, we offer a flexible working scheme (subject to business requirements), a defined benefit pension scheme, and 30 days of annual leave plus 10.5 bank holiday/privilege days, among other benefits.
