#### Job Summary
The Office of International Programs is looking for a Students Advisor. This role involves providing a wide range of advisement and coordination of services for non-immigrant international students, scholars, employees, faculty, and dependents, ensuring compliance with federal immigration law.

#### Essential Functions
– **Advisement & Counseling:** Guidance on immigration status, visa issues, legal employment, daily needs (e.g., social security, driver’s license, international travel, Medicaid), and academic and personal issues.
– **Program Planning:** Decisions based on established parameters affecting student progress and employment.
– **Collaboration:** Working with Auburn Global staff to meet international students’ academic and service needs.
– **Official Duties:** Acting as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), following federal regulations.
– **Event Planning:** Organizing events such as orientation, workshops, and recognition events.
– **Reporting:** Providing enrollment reports to the Federal government each semester.
– **Health Monitoring:** Tracking and reporting travel to and from health concern areas.
#### Minimum Qualifications
– **Level I:** Bachelor’s degree in related fields 1 year of advisement or counseling experience.
– **Level II:** Bachelor’s degree 4 years of experience, including at least 2 years at Level I.
– **Level III:** Bachelor’s degree 6 years of experience, including at least 2 years at Level II.
– **Skills & Knowledge:** Knowledge of visa categories, immigration processes, and related state and federal laws, and familiarity with the Department of Homeland Security F-1 and J-1 visa programs.
